Preface
The capability and use of Information Technology
and the Internet in the form of Web based energy information
and control systems continues to grow at a very
rapid rate. New equipment and new suppliers have
appeared rapidly, and existing suppliers of older equipment
are offering new Web based systems. Facility managers,
maintenance managers and energy managers are
all interested in knowing what problems and what successes
are coming from the use of these web based systems,
and need to be prepared for current and future
installations of Internet based technologies in their facilities.
Knowing what is being implemented at other facilities
and knowing what is actually being accomplished is
important information for the energy and facility managers
if they are going to successfully purchase, install
and operate complex, Web-based energy information
